About Us
I didn’t set out to build pools—I set out to fix a broken process that was revealed to me through our personal experience.
When my wife Sue and I were building our own backyard oasis, what should have been an exciting journey turned into months of stress and frustration. Poor communication, unclear timelines, and contractors who simply wouldn’t return calls made the experience anything but enjoyable. As I talked with more and more people, I realized we weren’t alone—this seemed to be the norm in the pool industry, not the exception.
That’s when everything changed for me.
With family roots in the pool business in Louisiana and a clear vision of how things should be done, I decided to create the company I wish we had hired. I wanted to build a business where homeowners could actually enjoy the process of creating their dream backyard—where communication was clear, expectations were set honestly, and the excitement of the project was never robbed by uncertainty.
My wife Sue and I now call the Charlotte area home with our two daughters, Wren and Ivy. Some of our best family memories happen in our backyard—lazy summer evenings, birthday celebrations, and fellowship with neighbors and friends. I know firsthand how transformative the right outdoor space can be, and I’m passionate about giving other families that same opportunity.
Whether you’re dreaming of a custom pool, or creating a complete outdoor living area, my commitment is simple: white-glove service from start to finish. Clear communication. Quality craftsmanship. And a process that brings joy, not stress.
Let’s build something beautiful together.
“So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 (NLT)
The Moorelux difference: a relentless commitment to excellence that makes growth a natural result, not a goal.
Most pool & outdoor living builders focus on getting bigger. We focus on getting better.
When Truett Cathy was asked about expanding Chick-fil-A, he said something that changed how we think about business: “If we get better, our customers will demand we get bigger.”
That’s our entire philosophy in one sentence.
We sweat the details others miss. From design to final walk-through, nothing escapes our attention. We communicate like your project is ours. Because poor communication is why homeowners hate working with contractors. We never stop learning. Watershape University and the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance keep us sharp and current. We don’t finish until you’re thrilled. Your satisfaction isn’t our goal—it’s our standard.
The result? Backyard spaces that exceed expectations and a construction experience you’ll actually enjoy.
That’s what happens when a company chooses excellence over expansion.
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
—Colossians 3:23 (NLT)
